V8 Conversion

Sep 15 2002 – after cutting the caddy in half and pressure washing the drivetrain.

Jan 05 2003 – Pictures of a 75 pinto that I cut up and got the front end out.

Feb 02 2003 – I got the last things out of the Pinto I might need so now it is time to have fun with the car before it goes to the junkyard.

Feb 20 2003 – I have to fix my camera it is starting to mess up, but here are 2 pictures of my frame I took as we started on putting the lower rails together.

Feb 21 2003 – I have my camera fixed and here are a few pictures of the frame that show some more detail. next week it should start coming together a lot faster.

Feb 25 2003 – Here is the bottom of the frame finished and located properly.

Mar 04 2003 – The body is temporarily placed on the frame to see how it is coming.

Mar 07 2003 – Pictures of the roll bar and more frame braces.

Mar 17 2003 – The rotors are mounted and wheels put on.

Mar 19 2003 – All the main frame rails are now done.

Mar 21 2003 – The frame is now complete and only needing a few details to finish it.

Mar 25 2003 – A few pictures of the new transmission mount and other things.

Apr 04 2003 – The car is finally home.

Apr 06 2003 – Rear suspension is assembled and some paint on the frame rails to protect it.

Apr 12 2003 – New Floorpan installed and test fitting body again.

Apr 21 2003 – front brakes installed, pedals installed, rear springs sort of installed.

Apr 27 2003 – gas tank designed and test fitting new back wheels and brakes.

May 02 2003 – Throttle cable and shifter cable installed and working.

May 04 2003 – Gas tank cut out and ready to weld.

May 11 2003 – Brake lines and radiator pipe installed.

May 24 2003 – Rear suspension finally put together and working right.

May 28 2003 – Gas tank put together and test fitted in place.

Jun 01 2003 – Gas tank, trans cooler, and body back on.

Jun 02 2003 – Radiator and battery tray mounted in the front.

Jun 05 2003 – Bunch of random parts bolted back on, and the dashboard is in.

Jun 06 2003 – Pulled the car out from under carport and cleaned it up for the show, Still no starter so it doesn’t run.

Jun 07 2003 – It started!!!!!!! no pics though it looks the same as before it just smokes a lot now :)

Jun 08 2003 – Pics from the town of Man car show.

Jun 14 2003 – Trunk mounted, new roll bar and some other details.

Jul 11 2003 – Installing Fuel Injection.

Jul 12 2003 – fuel lines ran and converting distributor to 7 wire computer control.

Jul 14 2003 – Running good now with fuel injection and computer controlled ignition.

Jul 23 2003 – Few engine details, brakes fixed, and other little things.

Jul 28 2003 – Started sorting out the mess of wiring in the car.

Aug 09 2003 – Hydraulic throttle installed.

Aug 22 2003 – New computer in, minor repairs on engine and now it runs smooth.

Aug 25 2003 – Gas pedal finally fixed and working brake lights.

Sep 07 2003 – Figured out where and how to stick a muffler on it finally.

Sep 10 2003 – Muffler position figured out and ready for pipes.

Sep 15 2003 – Few random pics of the car ready to go get aligned and exhaust pipes.

Sep 20 2003 – Car is back from muffler shop.

Sep 21 2003 – Heat shields made up and trying to figure out where to put some fans in the back.

Sep 26 2003 – Vent cut behind license plate and fans mounted in the trunk.

Sep 27 2003 – started cleaning up the wiring and hooking everything up.

Oct 10 2003 – Rear firewall and seatbelts mounted.

Oct 22 2003 – Sort of a front firewall and some other random interior stuff.

Nov 01 2003 – Moved pedal mounting

Feb 20 2004 – Got the pedals figured out and ready to build a firewall now.

Feb 21 2004 – Cleaned out the foot area and made a cardboard template for a firewall.

Feb 28 2004 – aluminum firewall cut out.

Feb 29 2004 – Firewall mounted and mounting pedals for the absolutely last time.

Mar 05 2004 – Pedals mounted and brakes working again.

Feb 26 2005 – Tearing down the engine to do some work to it.

Feb 27 2005 – Cleaned up the lifter valley and stripped the heads down.

Mar 04 2005 – Trying to get one of the back tires off.

Mar 06 2005 – Stripped down the front of the engine and that tire is finally off :)
